James Blanchard lives in the centre of Huddersfield. After years of Labour neglect James wants to be a hard-working local MP who will stand up for Huddersfield and its people. James is fighting against further cuts to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, and to solve crime locally.
After working for a democracy think-tank in London, James has moved back to Yorkshire and now works for a charity that adapts older and disabled people's homes in order to enable them to stay in their own home.
James graduated from Leeds University, and wants young people to have the same opportunities in life that he did, so is campaigning to improve school standards and to scrap student tuition and top-up fees, as well as Labour's recently imposed doubling of student loan interest rates.
